MEMORIAL DAY FLAGS

We have been asked by our local VFW to help honor our local veterans for Memorial Day. Each year, our local VFW and other community groups decorate the graves of all of our veterans in Augusta by placing an American Flag on each one. Last year, there were about 1400 flags that were placed on the gravesites of Augusta Veterans. They need our help with placing the flags and picking them up. Please join us for this opportunity to thank all of our veterans that have served us. The primary location for this activity will be Elmwood Cemetery on Ohio Street near The Space Station storage facility. There will also be a flag ceremony over the holiday weekend. The following is a list of the scheduled activities. Our local Boy Scout Troop will serve as the honor guard. Please wear your uniforms for these events.
Friday, May 25th 6:00 pm. – Elmwood Cemetery – post flags
Monday May 28th 9:00 am – Elmwood Cemetery - Avenue of Flags ceremony – guest speaker Mike Pompeo
